Rebelution “Winter Greens Tour 2013”
Rebelution âWinter Greens Tour 2013â
Originally formed in Santa Barbara, California in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution's future would be planted-- and would instill their kick back, "worry free" vibes, catchy refrain, and optimistic, inspiring, and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place.

On January 10, 2012 Rebelution released their 3rd studio album, Peace Of Mind, through their label 87 Music. The label, in partnership with Controlled Substance Sound Labs, simultaneously released two additional versions of the entire record as a multi-length triple album. Peace of Mind: Acoustic features all twelve original album tracks stripped down acoustic as well as Peace of Mind: Dub remixed by Easy Star's Michael Goldwasser. "It's been two and a half years since our last album and we are very excited to release new material. The triple-album is definitely a progression musically and genre wise from our past albums, while still grounded in reggae," says the band.

Expanding beyond their usual self-production, Rebelution collaborated with five different producers including Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amplive (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley), building upon their signature style and venturing into different musical landscapes. From the opening horns on "Sky is the Limit" to the lush strings incorporated into the gentle "Route Around" to the driving guitar and synths throughout "Lady In White", the band has built upon their sound spanning a number of genres while remaining true to their reggae roots.

Peace of Mind follows Rebelution’s wildly successful previous album, Bright Side of Life, which debuted at the #1 position on the iTunes Reggae Charts, #3 for the top iTunes albums downloaded in the United States in all genres of music and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others
J-Boog
J-Boog
J Boog is a man of many influences. The singer of Samoan descent was born in Long Beach and raised in Compton, California. Growing up in the rough streets of Compton, the strong sense of tradition and culture that J Boog absorbed from his family was instrumental in his path to stay off the streets and begin a successful music career.
At the age of four, after hearing his older sister playing the piano, he developed an interest and started watching her and learning about music. Soon, J was singing along to the notes & melodies he heard his sister play. A while later, she brought home a Bob Marley song book. Even at this young age, J knew Bob's name and his music. Upon hearing his sister begin to play, something clicked inside J. He hasn't been the same since.
The first time J Boog performed in front of an audience, he was nine years old. It was a large family reunion at a church and there were about 200 people present. J's mother and sister insisted for him to sing Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time" and J obliged them. Though he was nervous, it went quite well.
J Boog's music career became serious in 2005, when a couple of brothers from his neighborhood brought him to one of J's favorite artists, George "Fiji" Veikoso". The two began working together immediately and J ended up moving to Hawaii in 2006 to continue developing his craft. After releasing his debut album "Hear Me Roar" in 2007, he joined the musical family Wash House Music Inc, a record label based in Hawaii and San Francisco.
A year later, in 2008, J Boog met Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage and there was an instant chemistry. Gramps was keen on working with J, and set out to make a way. Shortly after, Gramps, J Boog and other Wash House family members were in Jamaica recording in such prestigious places as Bob Marley's "Tuff Gong" Studio, Don Corleone's "Hit Maker", Bobby Digital's "Digital B", Shaggy's "Big Yard", Sugar Minott's "Youth Man Promotion" and more.
The results are apparent when listening to Boog's new music. It is authentic Island Music and genuine Jamaican reggae at the same time. Truly a new and exciting combination. There is a natural theme to Boog's writing: love. It recurs throughout his work and never once seems contrived. When you listen, you will feel he truly knows matters of the heart.
These days Boog is either in a studio, on a stage or catching a flight. Radio interviews have become a daily thing and it's a little overwhelming for the young artist, though he has been smart enough to keep his humility. He has a great sense of humor and an even better sense of reality. He can be overheard saying how blessed he is on a daily basis. It's easy to see why J Boog has been winning over fans when you meet him. He has the right spirit and attitude to carry him to the next level.
J Boog's new album, "Back Yard Boogie" released on September 27th 2011, debuting at #1 on the iTunes & Billboard Reggae Charts. The album features guest performances from the likes of Peetah Morgan of Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley, Fiji, Spawn Breezie, Jah Maoli, and Jacob Hemphill of SOJA.
Hot Rain
Hot Rain
Started in the summer of 1999, Hot Rain is no new comer to Hawaii's island music scene. Originally started with members who met through church, Hot Rain has been capable of moving crowds since early in their musical journey. They got recognition early on by winning the battle of the bands contest on the roof top of Dave and Busters. In 2005 they won the Maitai rumble, yet another band competition. As their reputation grew they have opened for numerous international acts such as War, Yellow Man, Don Carlos, Eek a Mouse, Maxi Priest, Steel Pulse and Ub40. In 2008 they toured Japan and shared the bill with Fiji, J Boog, Laga Savea, Siaosi, and Kiwini. Hot Rain has also toured in countries such as Australia, Tonga, American Samoa, Guam and New Zealand.
Hot Rain's reputation has also given them the opportunity to stand in as the band for International Reggae Artists Tanya Stephens, Cas Haley and Junior Reid when they came through Hawaii.
In addition to playing live Hot Rain has lent their talents in the studio to many recordings gracing the Island Music charts. Artist such as Fiji, Micah G, Laga Savea, Siaosi, Kiwini, Kiani, Mike Love, The Green, and Anuhea to name a few.
In 2010 they began work on their debut album. Consisting of all originals, with all the music arranged and produced themselves. The long overdue self titled Hot Rain album has got the island music world buzzing with anticipation all the way to New Zealand and Australia.
Hot Rain, nearly 12 years in the making is more than a band. Their persistence through the "up's and downs" of the music business is what sets them apart from their peers. Their humble beginnings, love of music, and loyalty to each other cannot only be heard but felt every time they take to the stage. Get ready for Hot Rain...
