Warning Shapes
Warning Shapes
Warning Shapes is a Midwest-based rock band currently calling Minneapolis home. Originally from Wisconsin, Franklin, Alex, and Jesse all attended the same college. Throughout school, Alex drummed with Franklin in one band and with Jesse in another. However, Franklin and Jesse never met.

In 2015, Alex would finally introduce the two after he played an acoustic gig downtown with Franklin. Both Franklin and Jesse found common ground in that they had migrated to Minneapolis after college to pursue their musical aspirations.

After meeting, the three rockers hit the studio the very next day for a jam session. It was then that Franklin met engineer/producer, David Smith, who offered recording services at that very studio. Franklin and Alex decided this was the time to release an EP.

Franklin presented a collection of songs for the City Sounds EP and started tracking guitar and vocals. Jesse tracked bass and layered harmonies over each track. Meanwhile, Alex shipped out to sea to continue his work as a musician on a cruise ship. He set up a portable studio to track from afar. About ten months later, the EP was finished, a band was formed, and Aroi Records was born… but more on that later.
